During the online event I gave a presentation on cogeneration and energy communities: cogenatives and cogenmunities (co-CHPs). Both cogenatives and cogenmunities are based on the concepts of prosumerism and co-production of energy, and they constitute a step toward energy decentralisation and democratisation. They represent a large movement of energy communities/cooperatives in this way. The subject of their operation distinguishes them: cogenatives and cogenmunities are focused on the coproduction of heat and power for sale and/or own use, whereas energy communities/cooperatives are primarily focused on the generation of electricity. As a result, cogenatives and cogenmunities are specific types of energy communities/cooperatives that use CHP.
